FUSE represents the creative process behind Bradley University’s Department of Interactive Media. Combining art, technology, media, and community, FUSE 2020 will bring to the public the best of Bradley’s Interactive Media Department, showcasing what it means to be a student in the growing fields of Game Design, Animation, User Experience Design, and more.
From its ideation, FUSE is meant to bring the public and industry professionals alike closer to the artists and developers found at Bradley. With a day filled with interactive exhibits, video presentations, conversations with students, and engaging learning environments, FUSE is an event you won’t want to miss.
2020
Rockpocalypse
Rockpocalpyse is offering the visitors of The Riverfront Museum a rockin’ experience at this year’s FUSE! The target audience of 4th to 5th graders will utilize a guitar controller in an on-rails first person shooter to shred the enemies of rock! Players use a gyroscope installed in the guitar controller to aim at the display and vaporize enemies with lasers.
Chromawave
An interactive musical experience you won’t want to miss. Chromawave’s captivating soundtrack combined with its sleek visuals will attract anyone walking by. Chromawave looks to attract people of all ages, but the experience will be specifically designed to feed the imagination of school-aged children. We want our experience to inspire creativity in kids.
Suplex City
Suplex City is a cooperative beat-em’-up game for the arcade cabinet in which two players must work together to suplex their way through a fast-paced, action-packed city. You play as a selection of macho men and women who are masters of the suplex. Our target demographic is users ages 6+, with the goal of reaching any player who loves simple, straight forward, and fun gameplay.
Astro Bees
Astro Bees: Pollination Station is a fun and challenging game for kids, ages 9-12, to learn about genetics in a colorful and goofy environment. The player will be a bee in space, attempting to cross-pollinate flowers to achieve the target flower presented at the beginning of each level.
Early Bird
Early Bird is a lighthearted, single-player game designed to release all the built-up energy kids and adults have. As the hardest working rooster in town, the player’s job is to wake up as many townsfolk as possible before the sun comes up. This game utilizes audio inputs; the sound of the players’ enthusiastic screams determines how loud the rooster crows. Early Bird will feature an exaggerated, cutesy, 2D art style.
Compliment Clash
Competition doesn’t always have to make the loser feel bad because in Compliment Clash, it feels good to lose. Geared towards a young demographic, Compliment Clash aims to build the player’s creativity, typing skills, and emotional well being in an adorable arena of kindness and quick wits. In the English language, it’s too easy to come up with ways to bring another person down..
Not Earth
Welcome to a new, exotic world where the sights are unlike anything on Earth. As an explorer of the new world, your assignment is to travel down a winding river and photograph all of the extraterrestrial flora and fauna. The scenery will include glowing plants, strange creatures, and other mysterious organisms that need to be discovered.
The Last Charade
The Last Charade is an Alternate Reality Game that combines real-world puzzle solving with technology to create a unique experience that encourages exploration and critical thinking. The game would have players exploring the venue, searching for “crime scenes” that would give them a clue towards solving the grand mystery-- a murder! Each crime scene would have an incriminating piece of evidence, marked with a special symbol.
