William Nomikos
Game Design Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2021
About Me
I am a sophomore studying Game Design, User Experience Design, and Computer Science at Bradley University. Throughout my life, I have longed to create the ideas spinning around my head. I have found that games, as a genre, allow me to simultaneously merge story, music, and unique mechanics into an enthralling and immersive experience. I hope to continue learning and engaging with the game creation field so that I may better and more accurately express the world inside my head.
Featured Projects
Ink Economist
Ink Economist was a short animation I developed in late 2018. The animation featured short, quick and unrealistic movements to bolster the comedic nature of the characters present in the scene. I utilized Adobe Illustrator to create art and Adobe After Effects to animate the art and process the video.
Paper Kid Backgrounds
Paper Kid is a 2D, infinite runner game I produced from August to October of 2018. I worked on every aspect of the game, including programming, art and animation. I worked on many different backgrounds using Adobe Photoshop, that were intended to give the game a dark and eerie feel. These backgrounds complemented the game play and allowed the world of Paper Kid to come to life.
Orbital Bombardment
Orbital Bombardment is a top-down shooter bullet hell that I created in late 2018 with a small team called Team Game Makers. On this team, I was the lead programmer, responsible for creating and balancing the mechanics of the Magma Core, a boss that would attempt to shoot magma balls and asteroids into the player, a space ship. The player needs to dodge the Magma Core's attacks, while simultaneously pelting the Magma Core with bullets, in order to defeat the Magma Core.
