Kia Woods-Wall
Animation Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2020
About Me
My name is Kia Woods-Wall, a junior animation major from Detroit, Michigan. I've been drawing and writing stories since the day I was born; however, the creative bug did not strike me until my second year in middle school. During that time, I fell in love with Wendy Pini's graphic novel, Elf Quest, Misako Takashima's manga, Rock N' Roll Love, and Rumiko Takahashi's anime, InuYasha. These three women are the cornerstones to my interest in becoming an animator and graphic novelist. Their works inspired me to create characters, design their backstories, and build the worlds they live in. As a result, it is my dream to join an animation studio where I can be a part of a process that creates cartoons and characters that teens, females, and young adults can relate to and draw inspiration from.

Portrait
I drew this portrait in Photoshop in August 2018. Drawing realistically instead of stylized is difficult, but using my free time to challenge myself with this portrait was rewarding.
