Karalyse Hagen

About Me

I’m Karalyse Hagen; a Senior Animation major, and a Photography minor. I come from Alma, Michigan, a small farm town in central Michigan. I left to broaden my horizons and pursue my dreams.
If I had to pinpoint the moment in my life that I realized I wanted to pursue animation; would probably be while watching How to Train Your Dragon in IMAX theater. I knew I wanted to do something art related, and prior wanted to work in the live action film industry. But with animation I feel there are messages and emotions that leave a different impression on people.
During my time at Bradley, I have grown and matured so much. My dreams and aspirations have changed and shifted slightly, and I feel closer to achieving them with what I’ve gained from Bradley. I take pride in my ability to adapt to new situations and pick up new skills. I would consider myself a photographer, videographer, animator, costume designer, illustrator, painter, prop maker, and a graphic designer.
I don’t think I have a dream job. My dream is to create what I love and to form a bond with the audience members, no matter the job.

The Senior Animation Capstone is the final project for animation students and a culmination of their years studying software and various animation techniques. Each student makes their own animated short, which may be hand-drawn, digitally animated, or designed in 3D. From concept sketches to the silver screen, these students have brought their imaginations to life over two semesters of hard work and preparation. FUSE is the only chance you may have to view these epic films on the big screen, so be sure to grab a seat and enjoy!
