I am a BFA major aiming to make my own games independently some day. However after college I hope to start by working for a company like Nintendo or the Behemoth.
I spend most of my time by drawing, using my preferred mediums of markers, graphite, or colored pencil. I focus on improving my skills with character design, by making new characters, creating character reference sheets, or redesigning old characters to improve their design. I also like to practice using Photoshop and Illustrator by creating digital illustrations. I sell my digital illustrations on Redbubble as various products under the name GRoseCollins.
I, of course, love to play games. I like to study the games I play by writing down how the games were successful and where they didn't work. I then try to think of ways to fix the problematic features of the games.
I can be found online on my blog where I post my art and on twitter under the name of Gwen Collins.
This is a digital illustration done in photoshop during the fall semester of 2018. I wanted to try to sell my artwork as stickers and planned this work to be my first attempt. I also wanted to practice using the pen tool within photoshop in combination with using the paintbrush to add a gradient.
This digital illustration was made in the fall semester of 2018 using illustrator. A friend of mine wanted to create a card game and I volunteered to help make artwork for it. The game had the players become mythical creatures and fight over territory. My friend, however, changed her mind about having artwork for her game.
This project is a game made during the fall semester of 2018. I handled everything in terms of creating the game. The game is an infinite runner where the player plays as a fledgling dragon learning how to fly. The player has to collect wind gusts and other power ups while avoiding other dragons including the fledgling's older brother.
