About Me
My name is Courtney Fancil and I am a double major in game design and English with a concentration in creative writing. I am from a small town called Armstrong, Illinois. I enjoy reading, writing, and playing games. I've kept a journal for about 8 years now as well. I'm currently on two FUSE projects: Space Slam and Spell Scribe. I worked on sounds for Space Slam and I'm a designer for Spell Scribe. I'm on the social media team for Broadside: Writers & Artists, the student-run magazine at Bradley, and I'm the treasurer for Table Top Games Club.
Featured Projects
The Winter's Tale: An Interactive Story
This was a project I worked on for my British Literature class in May of 2018. I made it using Twine. It was a choose your own adventure story based around The Winter's Tale play by William Shakespeare. I used the game to explore how the story could've been very different from the original and to understand the characters more.
The Youthening
The Youthening was a game made in Unity for my Game Design I class in the fall semester of 2018. I was the artist for the game and also helped with some sounds. It's a game about a paper airplane traversing through a school hallway, trying to maintain fun while fighting off boring objects such as globes, pencils, and failed tests. The second level is similar, but takes place in a city.
Petri Panic
Petri Panic is a 2D, turn-based RPG made in Unity. Players play as Penni, a bacteria in a petri dish. Penni is attempting to get to the center of the dish to overthrow the tyrannical bacteria king. This project was made in the spring semester of 2019. I was the artist for the game and helped with sounds as well as a small amount of coding.
