My name is Ty Loveland and I am a freshman game design major from Alton Illinois. Ever since I was a young child, I have always had a strong fascination for computer games, going as far back as playing simple online flash games with my parents and friends. While going through school, my interest in games only grew more and more. Once I reached my early high school years, I was fully committed to making my dream of making games full time a reality.
Though I love all aspects of games and how they work, I tend to more enjoy the programming side of development. Coding goes into pretty much every aspect of the game including how a character moves, how the react to environments, and how they interact with other characters or players.
Throughout high school, I searched for colleges to attend including Webster University, and Illinois State University. While they both offer great computer science programs, the do not offer much as far as computer games. One night I came across Bradley University and immediately I knew this was where I wanted to be thanks to the amazing interactive media department.
Helped in programming the game using the program Stencyl. This game was a part of a game jam where students try to make as much of a complete game as they can in the course of a weekend.
The goal of the project was to create an animation using Adobe Aftereffects and pre made character designs, while using local voice actors.
