Hello, my name is Sophia Post. I was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas in 2008. Adjusting to a new environment with new people was difficult, so I found solace in drawing. My earliest art experiences consisted primarily of doodling in notebooks and on homework; However, as time progressed, I found myself engaged in digital art and animation. I purchased my first tablet a few years later to help further my involvement in the digital art realm. Through the years, I developed a strong passion for realistic and cartoonish styles, and my personal style is reflective of this. Upon graduating high school, I had knowledge in various areas of media design including traditional art, digital art, animation, documentary-making, and web design/development. I hope to advance my knowledge in other interactive media forms in college to create new and exciting projects.
The purpose of this piggy bank project was to practice value and texture. It was one of the first projects I completed in college. It was created using charcoal.
This animation required taking an excerpt from a movie and editing the script to fit a different genre. For example, I took the "Knights Who Say 'Ni'" scene from Monty Python and altered it to fit a western genre. I created it using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
