Ryan Voss Game Design
Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2020

About Me

My name is Ryan Voss and I am a freshman Game Design major and artist at Bradley University. I grew up in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, a relatively small town just south of Milwaukee. From a young age, around 10, I made the decision to create video games mostly because I had spent so much time playing them. Knowing what I wanted to do, in high school, I took all of the art classes I could as well as all of the programming classes available. Only being taught how to paint traditionally in school, I left home looking to learn to expand my skills of painting to that of art for video games. Currently, I spend most of my free time painting my miniature figures for the many board games I play as well as Warhammer 40k. I've only recently really gotten in to board gaming since coming to college, but it has definitely grown in to an addiction of mine. So much in fact, that I have started to consider the possibility of making my own board games with the friends that I get together with every week. I love the idea of trying to combine multiple mechanics to create an interesting yet simple game design.

Off The Edge

I am the artist for this piece, which I had created just before the start of summer. It is number 6 of a 12 piece series with the theme of a path that one travels throughout their life. This was the most abstract piece that I created in the set. It was created by scanning a sketch I made into photoshop CC and was painted using a Wacom Create drawing tablet.
