About Me

My name is Jason Bessett. I am a freshman animation major. My dream is to become a 3D modeler and 3D animator. My interest in 3D modeling started back in high school where I took all computer aided drafting and design classes that my school offered.
After I had completed all of those classes, I was offered an independent study using the AutoCad Inventor software. This is where I got my first steps into a 3D work space. I was able to excel with this program because my brain can understand a 3D work space better than it can a 2D work space. I ended up using Inventor not so much for actual engineering models, but for ships from Star Wars and other items and symbols from other pop culture brands. This includes a Millennium Falcon I 3D modeled from memory then 3D printed and now it is hanging on my wall. I found that making things in 3D is a lot of fun but a lot of work, but I like a challenge and that is why animation is a good place for me. My dream job is probably to work for Pixar and work in San Francisco so lets see how far I'll go.
