About Me

Hi my name is Robert Gilmer, but I preferred to be called by my middle name, Ethan. I am 20 years on and right now I am currently a Sophmore at Bradley University. My current profession I am studying right now is animation. I was originally a mechanical engineer but I just recently transferred into the IM department after figuring out I like to be creative, but I do not like the laws of physics bringing down my ideas as well as the heavy math that was involved. After transferring and getting into the program I felt this was the better choice for me. As of now this is what I can do. At the moment I am pretty good at sketching things out in a sketchbook, but there is always room for improvement. When it comes to design on a computer I fall short, but I plan to improve on this during my time at Bradley to become better for my future career. I have little experience in game design and coding (only used Stencyl so far) and want to try and make an effort to be more knowledgeable in this spectrum since animators can work for game companies.

This is a screenshot from a game I created for a class project titled "NO BRAKES". It is an endless runner where you are a train with no brakes and see how far you can go while jumping obstacles and to avoid crashing. This game was completed December 5, 2016

This was a sketch I did to help improve my drawing skill. In this case it was trying to sketch things at a side view. This is a sketch based of the Santa Fe railroad "Blue Goose" locomotive. The sketch to about an hour and was completed January 24, 2017.

This was a Sketch I did in an attempt to improve drawing 3d by freehand. The sketch tool about a few hours to complete and was completed January 26, 2017. As the title suggests this is a sketch of the Haunted Mansion found in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World.
