Hello all. I'm Erin, a senior Animation major, and Studio Art and Creative Writing double minor. As could be expected, I really enjoy animated movies and cartoon shows. But, when I can, I also like to get outside and hike. My favorite place to vacation is the Black Hills in South Dakota. The gigantic granite outcrops are really cool to looks at, and the Bad Lands aren't to far away.
When I'm not working on school projects, or out vacationing, I like to spend my time sketching or modeling. When i came to school, I didn't think I'd like working with 3D molding very much. But, after getting accustomed to the software, I discovered I really enjoyed it.
When I graduate, I hope to get a job in the marketing sector for a bit. Once I've saved a suitable nest egg, I'll move on to animating for games or TV, and see where life goes from there.
This is a screenshot of one of the backgrounds for my senior animation capstone project. The final piece is still in production, so the name is not locked in yet and some colors and whatnot may change. But it is coming along nicely, and I'm really looking forward to showing off the finished piece.
Most of the sketching I do is in a sketch book. But I'd like to start improving my digital painting skills. So I drew out a fun little lizard-type creature, and rendered him out using some of the same techniques I employ in my sketchbook. It came out nicely, but next I want to step out of my comfort zone and try painting in a more blended way.
