My name is Eric Santos. I am a Game Design Major with a Minor in Computer Science and Information Systems. My love for games and technology and how they are made goes back to my first computer science class in high school. Ever since then I’ve always loved reading up on new technologies and their possible applications. I also look at games in a completely different way now, trying to find and understand why a game is fun or interesting. Some of my favorite parts of designing games would have to be designing mechanics and level design. I enjoy coming up with crazy ideas for mechanics and trying to put reasoning behind them. Whenever I play games now I find myself studying the level design, especially in multiplayer games, seeing what designs make for the best-balanced games.
Some of my favorite hobbies stem from my love for games and technology. I like to do video editing occasionally using Premier and After Effects. I’ve been playing Dungeons and Dragons for almost three years now, which has only improved since studying game design. I like to play with audio, mostly for the videos I edit, which has peaked my interest in sound design for games. And on a less technological aspect, I love to cook.
I am the sole designer and creator of Jellyfish Journey. Jellyfish Journey is a 2D endless runner completed on December of 2016 using the Stencil software. You play as Jerry the jellyfish trying to make his way across the ocean while avoiding predators and obstacles.
I worked as part of a team of designers and on a sub team that designed the wall used for the escape room. This project was completed on December of 2016 and was fully built and implemented for people to play.
