Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2019

About Me

Hiya! My name is Audrey Simmons, Aud for short. Aside from a two year jaunt down to Tulsa, Oklahoma, I have spent the past seventeen years in the Peoria area. Because of that Bradley has always kind of been the plan. It took me a while to figure out what exactly I want to do for a career. I changed my major several times and even took 5 years off of school. I did eventually get my Associate's Degree with a focus in Multimedia from Illinois Central College and then this past fall I transferred into the Animation program here at Bradley. Though I am technically a Junior, I am actually more of a Freshmore.

The reason it took me so long to figure out what I wanted to do with my career is because my biggest passion is to tell stories. There are so many ways to tell stories. I can write them. I can film them. I can draw them. Which should I do? What should I choose? It didn't even occur to me that I could animate them until a few years ago. Animation, this thing I have loved since I was a wee little child was something I could do? I scoffed at the idea at first. I don't draw cutesy things. I don't know the first thing about animation! Yet, the more I thought about it, the more the idea really resonated with me. And now, here I am.

The Iocane Incident

Though this isn't the first animated projects I have done, this is the first animation I have made while in the animation program here at Bradley. I made this Fall 2016 with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.

Cross Necklace

Cross Necklace

My cousin commissioned me to make a chain for her cross necklace summer 2016.

Penguin Panic

Penguin Panic

This is the first game I have ever made. I made this past fall using Stencyl, and Adobe Illustrator.

Have you ever wanted to be in your own blockbuster film with special effects? The Greenscreen Experience can get you close: step in front of the green screen, where you and your friends act together in a short clip. Bradley students will then work to edit your footage, placing you in a variety of fantastical situations: hiding from dinosaurs, wielding some fire, dancing in space, and more! Select from a variety of fun props, act out your scene, and leave the rest of production to the students. Videos will be sent out via email.
