Mark Splingaire

Biology Junior – 2026

Mark Splingaire is a Junior biology major concentrating in ecology and evolution, and holds a minor in sustainability. He enjoys studying the different native plants of the Midwest. As a member of the Deshwal Lab of Conservation, he has assisted in research on various projects involving moth diversity, dendrology, and cicada bioacoustics. Making and sharing music for himself or others is one of his favorite hobbies. Mark believes in the importance of interdisciplinary skills, and plans to continue developing them for use and inspiration in future research projects. His goal is to make significant contributions to the field of plant biology.
