Ian Whiteside

Game Art Junior – 2027

Ian Whiteside is a Junior Game Art Major transfer student from Wheaton IL. He’s pushing to learn as much as he can about the Unreal 5 workflow, 3D environment development, ability to make materials and trim sheets along with how to make more engaging game worlds with procedural generation and visual variety. In his free time he still likes to play the games he grew up on like SSX3 or Need for Speed Most Wanted for the GameCube along with more modern games like Clair Obscure 33, but even while playing he’ll be analyzing how they built the game and visual choices that made for both vibe and optimization.
His goal is to be able to break into the industry as an environment artist or tech artist and continue growing his knowledge to then possibly teach one day.
