About Me
My name is Myah Bastian and I'm a sophomore animation student from Galesburg IL.
I'm constantly doodling and creating no matter where I go, and I've discovered that I need to always keep a sketch book on me because of that. I find inspiration wherever I go, and when I get an idea I just have to put it to paper. Most of my doodles end up on a few art websites/social media sites, though I'm not the best at posting but I am getting better.
As of the start of this school year I've begun to turn my attention on to some personal projects. One I'm working on with a friend, he's doing the writing while I'm tackling the art. We both plan on it being a voiced fantasy adventure story that will end up on YouTube eventually, it is still in it's early stages of development. The other project I'm planning on doing full force this summer is to rework an old idea into a possible short animation or comic. I've had this idea ever since I started creating characters so it feels right to bring it back and turn the old into something new.

Mayfly
I'm a huge fan of the book series "Wings of fire" and one of my favorite species of dragons in the book are known as Hivewings. I was so in love with the design that I had to make a fan character. Dubbing her Mayfly after the insect that I found both creepy and cool as a kid.
Riptide and Ashely
These are two of my oldest characters that I've been redesigning. When I finally settled on a look this piece was made to celebrate that I completed their update. Also it was made around Valentine day so it definitely inspired the cuddle on the beach and watch the sunset couples feeling.
Numbskull
This was a character study animation made in my 2D animation class. It was my favorite project out of all of them, just for how simple it was. It was a fun experience to make and it got me in the Halloween spirit. Overall I've discovered that ghosts can be fun to animate.
