Emily Plassenthal

About Me

Hi there! My name is Emily Plassenthal and I am a senior Animation major with a Drawing minor. I am from Vandalia, Ohio, and traveled to Peoria to attend Bradley University.

I've always had the passion for creating, focusing my education thus far on art in different forms. I've been drawn to animation for years, allowing the things I create to come to life. Throughout my time at Bradley, I've continued growing as an artist and animator. My passion for creating has only continued to grow at Bradley, and I look forward to what the future has in store!

DAT Color Palette Challenge

DAT Color Palette Challenge

Bradley's Digital Arts Team held a color palette challenge for the month of September. For this challenge, we were only allowed to use the six colors provided to us. With these six colors, I created a dinosaur within it's environment, playing with different styles of coloring. I used Adobe Photoshop and my Gaomon PD1560 Drawing Tablet to complete this piece in September of 2019.

Senior Capstone Animation

Senior Capstone Animation

I began creating my film in August of 2019. My film depicts a girl and her dog going on magical adventures. These adventures are actually set in the drawn worlds of her imagination. This animation features a more childlike drawing style to fit with the idea of the child drawing the world around herself. For this project, I have been using Adobe Photoshop with the AnimDessin plugin, and my Gaomon PD1560 Drawing Tablet.

Textured Ballerina

Textured Ballerina

I created this piece to show gracefulness with a rougher appearance. I've been playing with texture in different ways recently, and thought a soft pose with a harsh contrast in color application would be interesting. I used Adobe Photoshop and my Gaomon PD1560 Drawing Tablet to complete this piece in February of 2020.
